Fernando La Rosa

Works by Fernando La Rosa (1943-2017) from the MAS Permanent Collection.

La Rosa’s history with Peruvian sited and cities such as Machu Picchu, Sechín and Chavin Huántar allowed him access to places no longer accessible to visitors. Through the use of large-format cameras and traditional materials, plus image manipulation using digital technologies, he investigated a broad range of subjects. La Rosa earned a Bachelor in Fine Art from Escuela Nacional de Bellas Artes in Lima, Peru, and a Master of Fine Art from Tulane University in New Orleans. He exhibited extensively in the US and Peru plus served on the faculty at Parsons School of Design (NYC), Tulane, and Wesleyan College.
