Ask an astronaut! Following the recent Artemis Mis Ask an astronaut! Following the recent Artemis Mission, do you have questions about what it’s like to go to space? To see the moon up close? To experience zero-gravity? Astronomy Day at the Museum of Arts and Sciences is your chance to ask!

Meet former NASA Astronaut Jack Schmitt! Harrison (Jack) Schmitt is the first scientist and 12th and last person to step on the moon. He will be joining us for a live Zoom Q&A on April 25, at 1:30. Apollo 17 launched in 1972, and completed 3 days of geographical exploration of the moon. Schmitt was the last astronaut to step out onto the moon’s surface.

Think of some questions and come out to the virtual call Saturday, April 25, at 1:30!

Did you know, April 10th is Gopher Tortoise Day! T Did you know, April 10th is Gopher Tortoise Day! The Gopher Tortoise is the state reptile of Georgia and is recognized as a keystone species. They can dig burrows up to 30 feet long, and many other species depend on them for survival! Come learn about the gopher tortoise today in the lobby from 2-4, and stop by the Mini-Zoo to say hello to Leo, our resident gopher tortoise!
Calling all space explorers! Come to the Museum of Calling all space explorers! Come to the Museum of Arts and Sciences for an out of this world event featuring the Middle Georgia Astronomical Society, solar viewing, NASA astronaut livestream, and MORE! We will have planetarium shows, a telescope workshop, and a prize raffle. Don’t miss out on Astronomy Day on Saturday, April 25th! This event is FREE for members and included in our regular admission prices.
Come meet our newest Mini-Zoo resident, Daisy! Dai Come meet our newest Mini-Zoo resident, Daisy! Daisy is a 10-foot Albino Burmese Python! She and was one of our ambassador animals brought out for special programs, but now she has a brand new permanent home in the Mini-Zoo!
