National Fossil Day TM

Calling all aspiring young fossil detectives to join the Museum of Arts and Sciences to explore the world of paleontology in Central Georgia in celebration of National Fossil Day™ (October 17). A Fossil Scavenger Hunt through the Museum, hands-on activities like excavating shark’s teeth and making molds and casts of the Museum’s Ziggy the Dorudon serratus whale’s teeth. A representative of William P. Wall Museum of Natural History at Georgia College and State University will be on hand to share the tools of a paleontologist and items from the Museum’s collection. Members of Mid-Georgia Gem and Mineral Society will also be on hand to share examples of Georgia fossils.

Free with Museum admission – Members – Free; $10 adults, $8 Seniors and military, $7 students with ID, $5 children 3 – 17, Under 3 Free
