Ask an astronaut! Following the recent Artemis Mission, do you have questions about what it’s like to go to space? To see the moon up close? To experience zero-gravity? Astronomy Day at the Museum of Arts and Sciences is your chance to ask!

Meet former NASA Astronaut Jack Schmitt! Harrison (Jack) Schmitt is the first scientist and 12th and last person to step on the moon. He will be joining us for a live Zoom Q&A on April 25, at 1:30. Apollo 17 launched in 1972, and completed 3 days of geographical exploration of the moon. Schmitt was the last astronaut to step out onto the moon’s surface.

Think of some questions and come out to the virtual call Saturday, April 25, at 1:30!

Did you know, April 10th is Gopher Tortoise Day! The Gopher Tortoise is the state reptile of Georgia and is recognized as a keystone species. They can dig burrows up to 30 feet long, and many other species depend on them for survival! Come learn about the gopher tortoise today in the lobby from 2-4, and stop by the Mini-Zoo to say hello to Leo, our resident gopher tortoise!
