The Mark Smith Planetarium uses contemporary audio/visual technology to immerse audiences in thrilling trips through time and space. Three shows are offered each day the museum is open, and additional special programs are available throughout the month.

This planetarium show is usually animated, kid-friendly, and ideal for younger audiences. A perfect first trip beneath the dome.
These space explorations are adjusted for the predominant age range of the audience. Each presentation begins with a live tour of what to look for in the night sky, followed by an entertaining and instructional show from our extensive catalog. Programs featuring upcoming space science events are offered when available.

Special live night sky talks presented by local amateur astronomers — pointing out constellations, planets, and seasonal sights you can spot from your own backyard.

No late seating once the show starts.Please arrive 5–10 minutes early to find your seat and settle in.
Recommended for ages 3 and up.Programming, sound, and darkness designed for ages 3 and up. Children under 3 are permitted to enter, but may be asked to leave if disruption occurs.
There is no reentry if you leave for any reason.Once you exit the Planetarium, you may not re-enter for any reason. The room must stay completely dark, and re-entry disturbs the audience.
Food and drink are not allowed inside the Planetarium.Food and drink are only permitted in the Museum's lobby and must be finished before entering any area of the Museum
