The Middle Georgia Astronomical Society (MGAS) will offer safe views of the sun through the Thompson Solar Telescope, which is a research-grade specially filtered refractor recently donated to the museum. See the sun’s dynamic surface and view any sunspots, prominences, or flares which may be occurring at the time. Learn a little about our dynamic sun and space observatories that study it.
If there are clouds in front of the sun, this event will be canceled, so check the sky conditions. After each program, MGAS will have its general meetings, and the public is welcome to attend for free. These events do not include admission to the museum, which can be purchased separately.
