Sky Over Macon

Come out and see us for Sky Over Macon! View a guided tour of the night sky in the Mark Smith Planetarium, and weather permitting, our Observatory will be open to check out the starry skies above Macon! $10 for Adults, $5 for Children (3-17)
Here’s the event schedule!
6 p.m. – Museum doors open
6:15 p.m. – Our Earth Sciences Curator will lead groups along the Sweetgum trail and point out the plants and animals that live around the pond.*
7 p.m. – Planetarium show outlining what to look for in the night sky with a preview of any upcoming astronomical events for the next month
8:15 p.m. – Science on a Sphere Solar System Tour
9 p.m. – Museum closes and telescopic observation begins* If it’s cloudy, the event ends at 9.
*Weather Permitting
