Field Trip will run for 3 hours and include the following programs (in no particular order):
- Live Animal Experiences provide unique opportunities for students to see and learn about some of our animals at the Museum up close from an animal expert.
- Observe different animals, such as a mammal and reptile, to understand what makes them different (i.e. fur vs. scales).
- Our Discovery House consists of three fully interactive floors, including the Mini-Zoo, that you will be guided to and given tips on the best ways to explore.
- Create and design on our top floor in the Artist’s Garret.
- Observe the many animals in our Mini-Zoo on the main floor.
- Explore weather, dig for fossils, and more on our bottom floor in the Scientist’s Workshop.
- STEAM Activities occur in our designated classroom space where students learn and create through the STEAM process.
- Explore different types of animals such as birds, reptiles, and mammals, and their characteristics (i.e. fur, tail, beak).
- Understand why animals have groupings based on their characteristics.
- Create your own animal art to take home.
- Our newly renovated outdoor picnic area provides covered and uncovered lunch spots for our field trip groups. During this time you may visit our Museum Store.
- Lunch should remain on the bus until lunch time as there is no storage at the Museum.
- You may order/cater lunch for your group. Please let the Front Desk know ahead of time. The Museum is not responsible for your food order.
- If you choose to visit the Museum Store, please send in 10 students at a time with a chaperone THROUGHOUT your lunch time. Waiting until the very end of your lunch time will slow the check-out process and may cause you to miss your final program/bus departure.
